The Lake Country Scenic Byway was designated in 1997-1998 as an 88 mile corridor extending from Detroit Lakes to Walker with a spur from Park Rapids to Itasca State Park. It is a pristine route featuring quiet lakes, natural resources and habitats, as well as cultural and historical attributes not to be missed, making the corridor a major green tourism destination.
