Ice Cracking Lodge and Resort was established in 1934. Using timbers cut from the surrounding forests, the modern facility became a meeting and vacation place for people who enjoy fishing or winter skiing. The lodge and resort is rich in tradition and history from prohibition to modern times. Ice Cracking Lake is a crystal clear 331 acre lake located along the east edge of the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge.
